I moved my gallery here to get a fresh start. This time around I will be much more active in replying, making journal entries, and submitting art.
I'll give a brief of myself, my name is Coryn Briere and I graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor's of Arts and Sciences degree (in 2013). It's a double minor program and I studied Zoology and Studio Arts. I'm currently honing my skills so I can pursue a career in game production, as a concept designer or illustrator.
A month and a half ago I feel like everything clicked for me, how much dedication and work it will take to get to where I want to go. Since that moment, I've been doing figure studies for hours everyday and illustrating when I have time. I'm afforded this luxury because I've been living in South Korea for the past few months; when I return to Ontario in December I'll be getting a job (likely mind numbing) and continuing my studies.
Originally I wanted to be a creature concept artist, studying zoology really enriched my understanding of the diversity of life, anatomy, and essentially why animals look and behave the way they do. But I found my lack of understanding of the human figure to be debilitating when it came to concept design, so for the past couple months I've focused on figure and anatomy studies. I still have a lot to learn, but no artist is ever truly done studying the human body.
I hope to get honest critiques on my work and to create a welcoming space for artists or enthusiasts. Always feel free to message me with any concerns or questions about artwork or any other matter.
